The “F”
word. It’s not only about a single word. It’s about that language, those slangs, and those words which are so much into our daily lives that we don’t
even notice them. If you know me, I am not much of a discriminator or
judgmental kind of person. And yet I say that the part of India from where I
dwell, is a little too much into Abusive language. It’s as if, people there do
not even realize that they are using such a profane language. It’s in their
daily chores. Calling a friend, asking for change, calling a taxi, talking to
someone on phone all these doesn't really require those words, but they are
still using them.
What is so charming in those hurtful words that
people are tempted to use them so damn frequently? I could figure out only few reasons:
- · Because it is prohibited (morally or parent-ally) and breaking the rules makes it fun.
- · Because it makes you look stronger/Dominating in the conversation. (Mostly to intimidate the other human)
- · Because you are trying to join that group of college, which only welcomes people of THEIR kind.
- · Because you are really mad on someone and he/she has earned it. (As it is mostly in my case)
And then are the people from my place, their reason
is:
- · Because they are so used to them, that they've forgotten the actual meaning of those words.
Which actually is very funny and offensive sometimes
to the people coming from outside. If you've visited India or are an Indian by
nationality you are most likely to know that the word BC carries
entirely a different meaning in Indian society. Whatever/Whoever is the cause
of trouble is termed as BC. E.g. few will
definitely say “What BC” after they are finished reading this.
Somewhere it shows that our generation is aggressive
and a little insensitive. But on the other hand it also proves that we are adjusting
and understanding. We adjust and understand that the words used, actually do
not carry the literal meaning. We understand (mostly) that they are being used metaphorically. We know that it is just a form of expression. Just another word. After all, what’s so wrong in these words?
And for people who replace the words by other ones (e.g. Flip/Fish/Flu). Com'n you.. Everybody here knows that you are no Angel from heaven. Stop pretending it.
PS: Verbal abuse is still way better than killing
your enemies. And its more fun too.
